Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 ('Cr.P.C.') has been preferred on behalf of the petitioner with the following prayers: "a. To issue an Appropriate Writ in the nature of "Mandamus" direction or order directing the Respondent to release the Petitioner on Emergency Parole for a period of 60 days."

Issue notice. Learned ASC for the State appears on advance notice and accepts notice.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that an application for parole preferred on behalf of the petitioner has not been disposed of by Competent W.P.(CRL) 1116/2024 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. Authority despite applying for the same on 19.01.2024, though in para 2 of the petition, the dispatch number and date of application are mentioned as 06.03.2024.

Learned ASC for the State states that application, if any, preferred on behalf of the petitioner shall be considered and disposed of by the Competent Authority within a period of two weeks from the date of passing of this order, in accordance with law.

Taking the statement of learned ASC for State on record, petition is accordingly disposed of with directions to the Competent Authority/respondent to dispose of the application for parole preferred on behalf of the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of passing of this order, in accordance with law. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of.

A copy of this order be forwarded to Superintendent Jail for information and compliance.
