The petitioner has assailed Punishment Tickets dated 07.06.2019 and 23.09.2019 issued against him in the jail.

It is contended by learned counsel for petitioner that the Sentence Review Board (SRB) in its meeting dated 23.12.2025, rejected his case for pre-mature release placing reliance on amongst other factors, the two Punishment Tickets impugned herein.

Learned ASC submits that the impugned Punishment Tickets being of the year 2019 have already lost their significance, but in the present petition, decision of the SRB has not been challenged.

However, learned ASC graciously submits that instead of expecting the jailed petitioner to file fresh petition in order to assail rejection of his case by SRB, the State may consider his case afresh in the forthcoming SRB without placing reliance on the Punishment Tickets impugned in this order. Under these circumstances, learned counsel for petitioner seeks permission to withdraw this petition.

As requested, the petition and the accompanying application are dismissed as withdrawn with directions to the State to consider case of the petitioner for premature release in the forthcoming meeting of SRB without placing reliance on the Punishment Tickets impugned in this case. 7.

I have further deliberated upon another aspect. In another month or so, the temperature in Delhi is expected to cross 55o Celsius, so the State is expected to hold a meeting of the SRB as early as possible but positively within two weeks so that those who deserve to be released be granted appropriate relief in time.
