CM(M) 370/2020 This petition has been filed by the petitioner stating that though final

arguments in the Divorce Petition filed by the petitioner, being HMA No. 687/20 (CIS No. 48736/2016) titled as Puneet Kumar vs. Priyanka Verma, had been finally heard, the judgment could not be pronounced because of the superannuation of the learned Principle Judge, Family Court, Shahdara District, Karkardooma Courts, Delhi. The petitioner had thereafter filed an application seeking early hearing of the said petition, however, the same has not been listed before the learned Family Court. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that after the filing of the present petition, the petitioner has received an e-mail informing the petitioner that the application cannot be listed as it seeks pronouncement of the judgment.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the application filed before the learned Family Court be treated as an application seeking early hearing of the divorce petition and be decided in accordance with directions issued by this Court on the working of the Family Courts during this period.

In view of the submission made, the application filed by the petitioner before the learned Family Court shall be confined to the prayer of seeking early hearing of the Divorce Petition and shall be considered by the learned Family Court in accordance with the directions issued by this Court regarding the working of the Family Courts during the period of the lockdown. Such application be listed before the learned Family Court within a period of one week of the communication of this order, with intimation to the parties. The e-mail address of the respondent and her counsel shall be provided by the learned counsel for the petitioner to the learned Family Court.

The petition is disposed of with the above directions. NAVIN CHAWLA, J JULY 06, 2020/rv
