This petition has been filed by State challenging the order dated 12th February 2020, discharging the respondent in FIR No. 64/2017 under Section 498A/304B/34 IPC.

As per the impugned order, Seema, the respondent was the mother in-law of the deceased, and was discharged since there was only a statement of one witness that she was harassing the deceased and there was no such context of harassment.

Trial Court noted that this does not give rise to a grave suspicion. She was accordingly discharged.

The charges were framed against co-accused Satish, Mukesh and Chote Lal for offences under Section 498A read with Section 34 IPC and Section 304B of IPC.

It is now informed by APP that 3 co-accused have been acquitted vide judgment dated 30th April 2024.
