The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent/Delhi Jal Board to grant a separate water connection to the petitioner in respect of First Floor of the property bearing no. E-123, Greater Kailash-3, New Delhi-110048 ('subject property'), which the petitioner owns.

The application of the petitioner has been rejected on account of the fact that a sum of Rs.1,55,165/- is shown to be pending against the water connection at the subject property.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that the said dues are in respect of the Ground Floor of the subject property.

When the writ petition came up for hearing on 4th May, 2026, counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent-DJB was asked to take instructions. 6.

Upon instructions, it is submitted by the counsel for DJB that dues noted above, are in relation to the Ground Floor of the subject property. 7.

Hence, there is no impediment in granting water connection in the name of the petitioner, who resides on the First Floor. 8.

Accordingly, the present writ petition is disposed of, while directing the petitioner to apply a fresh water connection, which shall be granted by the respondent-DJB in an expeditious manner, after compliance of due formalities.
