O R D E R

% 16.05.2025 CRL.M.A. 15251/2025 (seeking extension of parole for a period of five weeks) 1.

The Petitioner is a convict and is presently undergoing sentence in terms of FIR No. 72/2011 under Sections 302, 392, 397, 411, 120-B, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, 18601. Through the present application, he seeks further extension of the parole for a period of five weeks, on account of an accident suffered by him on 10th May, 2025, when he fell from his bike and suffered an injury. It is contended that on account of this injury, there is a swelling over right parietal region. Moreover, an x-ray of his leg revealed that his femur has been fractured and accordingly, he underwent a surgery The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. on 12th May, 2025. In light of the same, the present request for extension of parole is made on humanitarian grounds.

The Court has considered the submissions advanced by the counsel for the Petitioner. It is noted that on 9th April, 2025, this Court granted parole for a period of three weeks to the Petitioner, in order to enable him to attend the wedding ceremony of his brother, however, the Petitioner has repeatedly sought extension of such parole. On the previous occasion, when extension was granted to the Petitioner on medical grounds, it was specifically made clear by this Court that no further extension shall be granted.

However, considering that apparently the Petitioner has suffered a serious injury on account of an accident, the request of the Petitioner for extension of parole is accepted. Accordingly, it is directed that the parole granted to the Petitioner vide order dated 9th April, 2025, is further extended for a period of two weeks from today, on the same terms and conditions. The Petitioner shall positively surrender before the Jail authorities at the expiry of this period of parole.

With the above directions, the application is disposed of. 5.

Copy of the order be sent to the concerned Jail Superintendent, for necessary information and compliance.
