The petitioners have filed the present petitions, inter alia, aggrieved by the delay in consideration of their appeal filed under Rule 6 of the

Delhi Specified Food Articles (Regulation and Distribution) Order, 1981. The petitioners' state that their respective appeals were filed approximately four months ago and the same have not been heard by the Special Commissioner, Department of Food & Supplies, Department of Consumer Affairs, Govt. of NCT of Delhi.

The learned counsel appearing for the respondents states that the appeals could not be heard as the concerned authority was busy with the general elections. He assures this Court that the appeals would be considered and disposed of by the concemed authority, within a period of eight weeks from today. It is so directed.
