Petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No.0006/2024 dated 03.01.2024, registered at P.S. I.G.I. Airport, Delhi, for commission of offences under Sections 419/420 IPC.

According to the petitioner, the matter has already got delayed considerably and police has not yet filed any charge-sheet and, therefore, his right to have a speedy trial under Article 21 of Constitution of India has been violated.

Learned Addl. P.P. for the State appears on advance notice and submits that charge-sheet has been filed on 29.10.2025 and the next date of hearing before the learned Trial Court is 21.08.2026. She submits that prosecution is still awaiting sanction for prosecution under Section 15 of Passport Act, 1967 and, therefore, no cognizance has yet been taken. In view of the above revelation of the fact by learned Addl. P.P. for the State, learned counsel for the petitioner, at this juncture, does not press his present petition.
