The above two petitions under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 have been filed for extension of the mandate of the Tribunal which has expired on 01.09.2023.

It is submitted that the extension may be granted till such time, the application under Section 10 CPC filed by the petitioners is decided or till the passing of the Award whichever is later.

Learned counsel on behalf of the respondent has, however opposed to this ambivalent extension of the period and has submitted that has no objection to this ambivalent extension which is not contemplated under the law.

Considering the submissions made in the application and that the mandate of the learned Arbitrator has ended on 01.09.2023 the period of extended by one year from 01.09.2023.

The petitions are accordingly disposed of.
