This petition has been filed by the petitioner alleging wilful disobedience of the judgment in Lalita Kumari v Govt. of U.P. & Ors. (2014) 2 SCC 1 where the Supreme Court had directed mandatory registration of FIR.

It is stated that the complainant is 25 years of age and residing along with her husband and in-laws and on 15th December 2024, there was an incident where she was abused and threatened to be thrown out of the house. She registered a complaint vide DD Entry No. 45A on 15th December 2024, but no action was taken.

Mr. Sandeep Sharma, Senior Counsel for the petitioner states that not even a preliminary inquiry was made.

was made under coercion, since the father-in-law had given an undertaking that no further incident has happened.

On 23rd January 2025, another complaint was made noting that on 30th December 2024, the applicant again had called to take legal action on this complaint, but there was no response.

Counsel for the respondent (SHO PS Hauz Khas) appears and states on instructions, that they will immediately look into the complaint filed by the petitioner and take steps in accordance with law in that regard. 7.

The petitioner will be kept informed by the respondent, of steps being taken, which will be done within a period of one week. 8.

Petition is disposed of with the aforesaid directions. 9.
