By way of the present petition, the petitioner seeks appropriate directions to the learned Trial Court to conclude the trial within a period of six months in SC No. 32/2021, titled 'State vs. Santosh Kumar Sinha', arising out of FIR bearing No. 199/2020, registered at Police Station Special Cell, for the offence punishable under Sections 21 and 29 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (hereafter 'NDPS Act'). 4.

years, however, charges have not yet been framed in this case. It is thus prayed that the learned Trial Court be directed to expedite the trial. 5.

Issue notice. The learned APP for the State accepts notice. He does not dispute the aforesaid submissions made on behalf of the petitioner. He however, submits that the petitioner was declared a proclaimed offender. 6.

This Court has heard arguments on behalf of the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned APP for the State, and has perused the material on record.

Considering the overall facts and circumstances of the case, the learned Trial Court is requested to conclude the trial in SC No. 32/2021, titled 'State vs. Santosh Kumar Sinha', within a period of eight months from date of receipt of this order.

With these directions, the petition stands disposed of. 9.

A copy of this order be sent to the learned Trial Court for information and necessary compliance.
