The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to respondent nos.1 to 3 to provide adequate protection to the petitioners. The petitioners state that they have a consensual relationship and they fear for their lives and liberty in view of the threats issued by the family members of petitioner no.1. 3.

The learned counsel appearing for respondent nos.4 and 5 (parents of petitioner no.1) states that they have no objection to the relationship between the petitioners.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submit that the petitioners are currently residing within the jurisdiction of PS Govind Puri. Since they were apprehensive about their safety, they had left the place where they were residing at the material time. 5.

Mr Avi Singh, learned ASC appearing for the State states that this is the first time that any complaint has been articulated by the petitioners and he has instructions that adequate protection would be provided to them. 6.

In view of the above, this Court considers it apposite to direct the petitioners to appear before the SHO, PS Govind Puri. He shall evaluate their threat perception and provide such protection as he considers necessary. He shall also provide them the mobile numbers of the beat staff in order to enable them to contact them in case of any eventuality. 7.

No further orders are required to be passed in this petition. The same is disposed of.
