This is a petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of time for completion of arbitration proceedings and rendering of the award. 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that upon disputes having arisen between the parties in relation to agreement dated 26.03.2012, arbitration was invoked and consequently the learned Arbitrator entered upon reference on 19.12.2018. He submits that even though the parties have been diligently participating in the proceedings, the same are still inconclusive and in the meanwhile, the mandate of the learned Arbitrator has expired on 18.06.2020. therefore, prays that the time for completion of arbitration proceedings and rendering of award be extended for a period of nine months.

Upon notice being issued, Mr.Anil Kumar Malhotra, representing the respondent before the learned Arbitrator enters appearance and fairly does not oppose the petition. 4.
Accordingly, with the consent of the parties and keeping in view the fact that much time and labour has already been invested in the proceedings, the time for completion of arbitration proceedings and rendering of award is extended till 31.03.2021 reckoned with effect from 19.06.2020.
