Mr. Ravi Gupta, senior counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, has drawn attention of the Court to the regularization order passed by the respondent/MCD on 25th July, 2025 (Annexure P-15 to the petition). 3.
Mr. Gupta submits that the present writ petitions have been filed before this Court pursuant to the order passed by the Supreme Court on 27th April, 2026 in W.P.(C) 500/2026 and W.P.(C) 501/2026 filed by the petitioner.

Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent/MCD raises objection with regard to maintainability of the present writ petitions. In this regard, reliance is placed on the judgment of the Supreme Court dated 11th March, 2026 in W.P.(C) 4677/1985 titled M.C. Mehta v. Union of India. Paragraphs 22 and 23 of the said judgment are set out below: 5.

Mr. Ravi Gupta submits that the present direction would not be applicable to the present writ petitions in view of the order passed by the Supreme Court on 27th April, 2026 in W.P.(C) 500/2026 and W.P.(C) 501/2026 filed by the petitioner in his own case. Paragraphs 3 and 4 of the said order are set out below:

Mr. Gupta submits that the amounts that were demanded by the MCD via the regularization order passed on 25th July, 2025 have already been paid by the petitioner. Without prejudice to the rights and contentions of the petitioner, the petitioner is willing to pay remaining charges, if any, as communicated by the MCD subject to the final adjudication of I.A. 32418/2024 in W.P.(C) 4677/1985.

Taking into account the aforesaid submissions, the present writ petitions are disposed of with the following directions: i.

Upon petitioner paying the said amount, the premises of the petitioner shall be de-sealed forthwith.

The payment so made by the petitioner shall be subject to the final adjudication of I.A. 32418/2024 transferred to this Court pursuant to the judgment dated 11th March, 2026 passed by the Supreme Court in W.P.(C) 4677/1985.

This order is being passed without going into the maintainability of the writ petition in view of the fact that the petitioner has agreed to pay the amounts demanded by the petitioner as noted above. 10.
All pending applications stand disposed of.
