By way of present petition, the petitioner is seeking quashing of FIR bearing no. 1142/2021, registered at Police Station Paschim Vihar, Delhi for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 354/354B/506/509/323 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC') and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom.

and have been identified by their counsel and Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Paschim Vihar, Delhi.

Brief facts of the case are that petitioner and respondent no. 2 and 3 are neighbours. It is stated that some miscommunication and enmity had developed between the petitioner and respondent no. 2 and 3. Pursuant to which, the present FIR was registered at Police Station Paschim Vihar, Delhi against the petitioner. Thereafter, with the intervention of respectable members of the society, both the parties have resolved and settled their all disputes vide an affidavit dated 24.02.2025.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no.2 and 3 who have been identified by the IO, have categorically stated that they have entered into compromise out of their own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated by respondent no.2 and 3 that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between the parties and no objection for quashing of FIR has been given by respondent no. 2 by way of an affidavit dated 24.02.2025.

In view of the above facts that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will and without any coercion and also the fact that the present matter is a family matter, this Court is of the opinion that no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. Hence, it would be in the interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. Moreover, there is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question.

Accordingly, FIR bearing no. 1142/2021, registered at Police Station Paschim Vihar, Delhi for the commission of offences punishable under The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

Sections 354/354B/506/509/323 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed, subject to petitioner depositing a sum of Rs. 10,000/- with Advocates Welfare Fund, Rohini Court within a period of one week from date.
