The present Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (in short, 'BNSS'), seeking issuance of a Writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondents to produce Ms.XXX, the minor daughter of the petitioner, before this Court.

The learned Standing Counsel for the respondents hands over the Status Report dated 19.05.2026, which inter alia states that the minor daughter has since been recovered on 12.05.2026. Thereafter, she was produced before the Child Welfare Committee, and the custody of the minor girl was restored to the petitioner, her mother. The statement of the child was also recorded under Section 183 of the BNSS before the learned JMFC, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi. There is no allegation of foul play made by her in her statement.The same is taken on record.

The learned counsel for the petitioner also confirms that the minor girl is now in the custody of the petitioner. 4.

Keeping in view the above, the petition has served its purpose and is disposed of as such.
