Exemption is granted subject to all just exceptions. 2.

The petitioner shall file legible and clearer copies of exempted documents, compliant with practice rules before the next date of hearing.

This is a petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of mandate of the learned Arbitrator for a period of 6 months from 15.03.2024 till 15.09.2024 for making and publishing the award.

were filed before the learned Arbitrator during his mandate and it took time to decide those applications. It is for this reason that the proceedings have been delayed.

Mr. Bhattacharya, learned counsel for the respondent opposes the application and states that the delay is attributable only to the petitioner/ claimant as it took more than 3 months to file its statement of claims and 4 months to file its evidence.

According to me, once 12 applications have been filed before the learned Arbitrator, the same would take some time to be decided. 8.

For the said reasons, according to me, sufficient cause has been shown for grant of extension of time.

The mandate of the Sole Arbitrator is extended for a period of 9 months from 15.03.2024 to 15.12.2024 to conclude the same.

10. The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
