Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent/MCD raises objection with regard to maintainability of the present writ petition. In this regard, reliance is placed on the judgment of the Supreme Court dated 11th March, 2026 in W.P.(C) 4677/1985 titled M.C. Mehta v. Union of India. Paragraphs 22 and 23 of the said judgment are set out below: The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

It is submitted that in terms of the aforesaid directions, the Chief Justice of this Court is required to register a suo moto case and constitute an appropriate Bench to hear Interim Applications transferred from Supreme Court to High Court.

Ms. Diya Kapur, senior counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, submits that the petitioner has paid the conversion charges that were demanded by MCD and additionally has also deposited amounts towards compounding fee for regularization of the existing structure of the subject shop. Without prejudice to the rights and contentions, the petitioner is willing to pay remaining charges, if any, as communicated by the MCD subject to the final adjudication of I.A. 32418/2024. 5.
Taking into account the aforesaid submissions, the present writ petitions are disposed of with the following directions: i.
MCD shall communicate to the petitioner the amount, if any, payable towards conversion charges within one (1) week from today. ii.
Upon petitioner paying the said amount, the premises of the petitioner shall be de-sealed forthwith.
iii.
The payment so made by the petitioner shall be subject to the final adjudication of I.A. 32418/2024 transferred to this Court pursuant to the judgment dated 11th March, 2026 passed by the Supreme Court in W.P.(C) 4677/1985.

This order is being passed without going into the maintainability of The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
the writ petition in view of the fact that the petitioner has agreed to pay the amounts demanded by the petitioner without prejudice to his rights and contentions.

The Registry shall take appropriate steps in terms of the judgment passed by the Supreme Court on 11th March, 2026 in W.P.(C) 4677/1985, particularly in terms of paragraphs 22 and 23 which are set out above. 8.
All pending applications stand disposed of.
