This petition is preferred on behalf of the Petitioner under Section 29A (4) and (5) of Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ('1996 Act') seeking extension of mandate of learned Arbitral Tribunal by a period of 9 months.

Disputes having arisen between the parties, recourse was taken to arbitration and Arbitral Tribunal was constituted which held its proceedings from time to time. Mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal was extended by this Court on 25.10.2024 in OMP (MISC) (COMM) 847/2024 by a period of six months from 02.10.2024 till 02.04.2025. It is stated in the petition that the proceedings are at the stage of claimants' cross-examination on some additional documents produced by the parties on direction of the Arbitral Tribunal during the arguments.

Learned counsel for the Respondent, on instructions, submits that Respondent has no objection to the extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal but Respondent strongly refutes the allegations of delay made against the Respondent in the petition.

With the consent of the parties and without going into the allegations of delay made against the Respondent, which are refuted, mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended by a period of 09 months from 28.04.2025 and period between 03.04.2025 to 27.04.2025 is regularized. 5.

Petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
