The present petitions have been filed by the Petitioners- Om Pal and Mauhmad Ikarar under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, inter alia, for issuance of an appropriate writ directing the Respondents to issue certificate of vending to the Petitioners in compliance of Section 4 of the Street Vendors Act, 2014 .

The Petitioners in the present petitions are vendors who are vending in the Nehru Place area. The stand of the Petitioners is that their Certificate of Vending (hereinafter 'COV') has not been issued by the Respondents. 4.

In both these petitions, ld. Counsels for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (hereinafter, 'MCD') submits on instructions of Mr. Sanjay Kumar, Administrative Officer, Central Zone, MCD that the Petitioners have been surveyed and the proper survey slip has been given to the Petitioner. However, there has been some delay in the issuance of COV. It is further submitted by the ld. Counsels that the MCD is not currently disturbing the Petitioners in any manner from carrying out their vending as long as they adhere to the conditions of the licence.

Accordingly, the following directions are issued : i) Let the COV be issued expeditiously and in any case within a period of two months;

ii) In the meantime, the Petitioners shall not be disturbed from vending in the concerned ward as long as the Petitioners adhere to the conditions as contained in the COV.

Petitions are disposed of in these terms. All pending applications, if any, are disposed of.
