Allowed, subject to all just exceptions.

The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying as under:- "a) Issue a writ in the nature of Mandamus granting 'Emergency Parole' to the petitioner for a period of eight (8) weeks to as provided under Rule l2l2A, Delhi Prison Rules, to protect himself from COVID-19 pandemic, to combat inner stress and depression arising out of prolonged incarceration, to re-establish family and social ties in FIR No. General Security Force Court, U/S 40/46/16(d) BSF Act, P.S. 23th Batallion BSF Uttar Dinajpur (WB)."

Ms Kapoor, learned ASC appearing for the State states that the petitioner, essentially, seeks extension of his parole because he was released on parole for a period of four weeks by an order dated 21.05.2020 passed in W.P.(Crl.) 601/2020 and the same was extended for a further period of four weeks by an order dated 19.06.2020.

Admittedly, the petitioner was granted parole in terms of the guidelines issued by the High Powered Committee. The interim orders granted have since been extended till 31.08.2020 in terms of the decision of the Full Bench of this Court rendered on 13.07.2020. 5.

Accordingly, the present petition is allowed and the parole granted to the petitioner is extended till 31.08.2020 on the same terms and conditions as set out in the order dated 21.05.2020 and 19.06.2020 rendered in W.P.(Crl.) 601/2020.
