By way of the present petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of the FIR bearing No. 154/2025, registered at Police Station Greater Kailash, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Section 78 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (hereafter 'BNS'). 4.

Brief facts of the case are that in November, 2023, the petitioner has allegedly proposed the complainant/respondent no.2. Upon the complaint being filed by respondent no. 2 regarding chasing and stalking, the present FIR came to be registered against the petitioner. It is stated that with the intervention of family and friends, the parties have now amicably settled their disputes vide Settlement Agreement dated 31.03.2025. 7.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 who has been identified by the IO concerned, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Therefore, she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 8.

In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, and without any coercion, and no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 9.

Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 154/2025, registered at Police Station Greater Kailash, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Section 78 of BNS and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed, subject to petitioner depositing a sum of Rs.10,000/- with the Delhi Police Welfare Society within a period of one week from date.
