By way of the present petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR bearing no. 111/2025, registered at Police Station Maurya Enclave, NorthWest, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 85/316(2)(3)(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (hereafter 'BNS') and its consequential proceedings.

Issue notice. Mr. Yasir Rauf Ansari, the learned ASC accepts notice on behalf of the State.

The petitioners and respondent no. 3 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Maurya Enclave, North-West, Delhi. Brief facts of the present case are that on 26.11.2023, the petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 4 had previously met through online portal, jeevansathi.com, and agreed to marry each other. It is stated that a roka ceremony was conducted at the house of respondent no.4. It is stated that between 27.11.2023- 28.03.2024, the petitioner no. 1 returned to Melbourne, Australia on 27.11.2023, i.e., the day after roka ceremony. The petitioner no.1 and respondent no. 4 remained in touch through WhatsApp. The petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 4 agreed to perform an Arya Samaj marriage in the month of March, 2024 to facilitate the visa application and travel of respondent no. 4 to Australia and a proper Hindu marriage with all the rites and customs to be solemnized as scheduled on 07.12.2024. On 26.11.2024, petitioner no. 1 and respondent no.

4 got into arguments and the matters worsened to the extent that marriage had to be called off. On 27.11.2024, the respondent no. 4's father called the petitioner no. 1's father and called off the wedding. On the complaint of respondent no. 2, the present FIR was registered against the petitioners. During pendency of the case, both the parties had amicably settled their disputes vide Settelement Agreement dated 06.11.2025.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 4, who has been identified by the IO, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Respondent no. 4 further states she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed.

In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 7.

Accordingly, FIR bearing no. 111/2025, registered at Police Station Maurya Enclave, North-West, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 85/316(2)(3)(5) of BNS and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

In view of above, the present petition, along with pending applications, stands disposed of.
