O R D E R

% 03.02.2016 Present writ petition has been filed with the following prayers:- " (i) Direct the respondent to return the recovered amount of Rs.1,68,00,331/- towards duty scrips or to reissue the duty scrips of equal amount as aforesaid and also to return interest recovered thereon amounting to Rs.93,59,041/-; (ii) Pass any other order(s) or direction(s) which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in favour of petitioner."

A perusal of the file reveals that the petitioner's representation/ letter dated 29th January, 2015 has not been disposed of till date by the respondent - Directorate General of Foreign Trade. Consequently, the present writ petition is disposed of with a

direction to the respondent to decide the petitioner's representation/letter dated 29th January, 2015 as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six weeks. The respondent is directed to give a personal hearing to the petitioner. It is made clear that it shall be open to the respondent to ask the petitioner to produce the necessary documents at the relevant time. This Court however clarifies that it has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the controversy. The rights and contentions of all the parties are left open.

With the aforesaid observations, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
