By way of the present petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of the FIR bearing No. 555/2019, registered at Police Station Jafrabad, Delhi, for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 135/150 of the Indian Electricity Act, 2003.

All the petitioners and legal representative of respondent no. 2 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsel and Investigating Officer (IO) concerned, Police Station, Jafrabad, Delhi. 9.
Brief facts of the case are that the on 26.09.2019, on the basis of a complaint lodged by Respondent No. 2, the present FIR was registered against the petitioner and his tenant, namely Jakir, alleging theft of electricity. It is stated that with intervention of the respected members of the society, the parties have now amicably settled their dispute vide Settlement Agreement dated 27.03.2022 executed at Delhi State Legal Services Authority, E-Special Lok Adalat.

On a query made by this Court, the legal representative of respondent no. 2 who has been identified by the IO, has categorically stated that respondent no. 2 has entered into compromise out of its own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated that respondent no. 2 has received the settlement amount i.e., Rs. 8550/- in accordance with the said settlement agreement. Therefore, he has no objection if the present FIR is quashed.

In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 12.
Accordingly FIR bearing No. 555/2019, registered at Police Station Jafrabad, Delhi, for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 135/150 of the Indian Electricity Act and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
