This hearing has been done through hybrid mode. 2.
The present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of the BNSS (Section 482 of the Cr.P.C.) seeks the following prayers:
"(a) Direct the Respondent to safeguard the life and liberty of the Petitioner and to ensure that the Petitioner are not harassed for all times to come on this issue; and/or, (b) pass any such other and further order/direction, which this Hon'ble Court deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the present case. AND FOR THIS ACT OF KINDNESS THE PETITIONER SHALL AS IN DUTY BOUND EVER PRAY."

On the last date of hearing, i.e., 15.04.2025, the following order was passed:
"4. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that despite various complaints being given to the concerned authorities, no security has been provided to the survivour and the petitioner in the present The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
case. CCTV footages have been placed on record which shows that certain people were seen kicking at the door of residence of the petitioner and the survivour.
5. Issue notice.
6. Learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the State accepts notice and seeks some time to file a status report. Let a detailed status report be filed under the signature of the concerned ACP.
7. In the meantime, the mobile number of the Beat Constable and the SHO concerned be provided to the petitioner, who shall promptly respond in providing necessary security."

Today, a status report dated 18.04.2025 authored by ACP/SubDivision, Jahangir Puri, Delhi has been handed up in Court and the same is taken on record. The said report records the background of the FIR initiated on behalf of the present petitioner as well as the cross-FIR filed at the instance of the opposite party. So far as the threat being received by the petitioner and her daughter, i.e., the survivour from the accused is concerned, it is stated that the same is being enquired in detail and the result of such enquiry will be finalised at the earliest. The status report further records as under: "18) That it is pertinent to mention here that, police staff was deployed round the clock at their house since the registration of the present FIR.
Even on 13/03/2025 police staff was deployed at the petitioner's house and also a police booth along with permanent picket is present in the immediate vicinity of the house of petitioner. On 13/03/2025 petitioner telephonically informed beat HC Yashpal that Saibul's brother Kochi passed from the Shah Alam Bandh Gol Chakkar to which HC Yashpal categorically enquired from Petitioner whether that person Kochi has said anything to her but petitioner denied that Kochi had said nothing to her.
19) That concerned beat staff was briefed in detail so as to visit the house of petitioner at fixed intervals and also randomly so as ensure no law order situation arises in the area and ensure safety of the petitioner. Further the mobile number of concerned beat staff/IO/SHO was already provided to the petitioner so that in case of any exigency the petitioner may reach to local police for immediate assistance in addition to making PCR Call.

23) That as per the aforesaid submissions it is submitted that allegations of threat by petitioner are being enquired in detail. Fair investigation is being carried out and the same will be finalized at the earliest please. Further, at present petitioner is provided with adequate security at her house which is close proximity of Police booth situated at Shah Alam Bandh and pickets. The mobile number of SHO/IO/beat staff is already shared with the petitioner. Any directions passed by this Hon'ble Court shall be complied with."

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner further submits that the latter has filed representation before the concerned learned District Judge under the Witness Protection Scheme, 2018. 6.
Learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State submits that arrangements as stated in the aforementioned status report shall continue till further orders.

In view of the above, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner does not wish to press the present petition with liberty to pursue the representation before the concerned learned District Judge. 8.
Liberty granted.

The present petition is dismissed as not pressed and disposed of accordingly.
