The present petition under Section 29A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeks extension of time period for completing of the arbitral proceedings and rendering an award. During the pendency of the present petition, the parties were referred to Delhi High Court Mediation and Conciliation Centre where they arrived at an amicable settlement on 20.12.2019. The terms of the settlement have been recorded in paragraphs 1 and 2 of the settlement. 2.
Learned counsel for the parties, therefore, pray that the petition be disposed of in terms of the said settlement. 3.
Accordingly, the petition seeking extension of time for
conclusion of the arbitration proceedings is rendered infructuous in view of the settlement arrived at between the parties. The parties will remain bound by the terms of the settlement which will form part of the record.
