The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondent/Election Commission of India ('ECI') to expeditiously process and dispose of the petitioner's application dated 10th June, 2024 for registration of its political party under Section 29A(7) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.

It is stated that a communication dated 2nd February, 2026 was sent by the petitioner to the ECI, providing necessary documents, as sought by ECI. However, no steps have been taken by the ECI for registration of the party. 3.

Accordingly, the present writ petition is disposed of, while directing the respondent/ECI to carry out the verification exercise within four (4) weeks from today and based on the same carry out the process for registration of the petitioner's political party.
