06.07.2017 By these petitions, petitioners have prayed for quashing of following two cross-FIRs details whereof are mentioned as under :- a) FIR No. 182/16 under Sections 323/354(A)1506/34 IPC registered at police station Chhawla on the complaint of Mr. Dharrnender (respondent no.3 in W.P. (C) 243/2017).

b) FIR No. 276/13 under Section 354 IPC registered at police station Chhawla on the complaint of Ms. Lalita (respondent no.2 in Cr1. M.C. 323/2017) On the oral prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioners in W.P.(Crl.) 243/2017), Shri Dharmender is impleaded as respondent no.3. Amended memo of parties is taken on record.

Accused persons and complainants are related to each other. It is submitted that a dispute arose between them in respect of a piece of land which led to a verbal duel resulting in scuffle and beating, consequently, above mentioned cross FIRs were registered. Petitioners (accused persons) and respondents (complainants/victims), in both the petitions, have settled their disputes amicably with the intervention of the elders of their family. Complainants/victims are present in Court and have been identified by SI Shiksha of police station Chhaw!a. They state that they are not willing to pursue the FIRs any further as they want to maintain harmonious relations in future, thus, the same may be quashed in view of the settlement. Keeping in mind that disputes arose between the parties over a piece of land which led to registration of present FIRs and now matter has been amicably resolved between them, inasmuch as, complainants do not wish to pursue the FIRs, in the interest of justice, above referred FIRs and the

consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Both the petitions are disposed of in the above terms. Dasti.
