The sole grievance raised in the present petition is to the effect that the application seeking parole was submitted way back on 11.02.2026, which has yet not been decided.

Learned Standing Counsel (Crl.) for the State, who appears on advance notice, submits that, in the interregnum, the petitioner had also prayed for furlough and there was direction by this Court to decide his furlough request in a time-bound manner. She, however, submits that respondent/State would have no objection if the Competent Authority is requested to dispose of the abovesaid application dated 11.02.2026 in a time-bound manner.

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of with direction to the Competent Authority to decide the application seeking parole dated 11.02.2026 in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from today. 4.

A copy of this order be also sent to learned Superintendent, Jail for information and compliance.
