The present petition assails the order dated 10.04.2024 and 12.04.2024, whereby the petitioners' nomination form for elections to the "Works Committee, Central Ordinance Depot (Delhi Cantt.)" has not been accepted on account of delay in submission thereof. 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that there was only a marginal delay in submission of the nomination form/s. It is further submitted that, taking into account the minimum time that is mandated under the applicable rules, the submission of the concerned nomination form/s could not be considered to be belated, and is required to be accepted. 3.
After some hearing, learned counsel for the respondents submits that the election for one member of the concerned "works committee" in the category in which the petitioners falls viz. rescheduled and a fresh notification shall be issued for conducting elections (within a period of 30 days from today) for filling up the vacancy in the said category. The elections for the rest of the seats/vacancies in the concerned "works committee" (for different categories of workmen), as mentioned in paragraph 4 of the notification dated 03.04.2024, shall proceed as per schedule i.e. on 23.04.2024.

The aforesaid statement is taken on record.

In view of the aforesaid, the prayer/s sought in the instant petition, do not survive for consideration. The same is accordingly, disposed of. 6.
It is made clear that this court has not interdicted with the conduct of the elections scheduled on 23.04.2024 for all other categories of workmen, as enumerated in paragraph 4 of the notification dated 03.04.2024, and this order shall not be construed as having any bearing thereon.
