The Petitioner has approached this Court seeking a direction to the Respondents to decide the application filed by the Petitioner on 19.03.2022 for title verification of the Newspaper of the Petitioner. The present Writ Petition has been filed on the ground that the said application has not yet been decided by the Respondents.

Learned Counsel appearing for the Respondent No.1 who appears on advance notice has handed over an order dated 11.10.2022 by which the application of the Petitioner for title verification of the Newspaper has been dismissed. The said Order reads as under:

"This is to inform you that the proposed title/titles is/are not available as per RNI guidelines for Title The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. The Order is downloaded from the DHC Server on 01/05/2024 at 12:35:43

Verification and/or in terms of proviso to section 6 of the PRB Act, 1867 as amended from time to time wherein it is stated that the newspaper proposed to be published should not bear a title which is the same as or similar to that of any other newspaper published either in the same language or in the same state. You may therefore, advice the applicant to suggest some other titles and forward the application through your office."

In view of the above, the Writ Petition is disposed of along with the pending applications, if any.

However, it is always open for the Petitioner to take steps in accordance with law to challenge the Order dated 11.10.2022.
