This Writ Petition is filed by the petitioner seeking an appropriate direction to the respondent to conduct an inspection and decide the application of the petitioner for grant of affiliation from the Academic Session 2020-21. The case of the petitioner is that DGT had invited applications from institutions desirous of seeking affiliation for various Skill Development Trades for the academic session 2016-17. DGT had also entered into an MOU with the Quality Council of India by virtue of which the DGT had outsourced its function of granting of accreditation to ITI's. The arrangement is said to have expired in October 2017. 2.

The application of the petitioner was duly received by the Quality Council of India. In October 2017 the arrangement of the DGT with the QCI expired. It is pleaded that because of that large number of applications are

pending with DGT including the application of the petitioner which has not been processed. It is further pleaded that the petitioner had visited the office of DGT on several occasions but no action has been taken. 3.

Learned counsel for the respondent has entered appearance. 4.

Keeping into account the fact that the application of the petitioner is pending for a long time it would be in the interest of justice that the respondent may deal with the same expeditiously. 5.

Let the respondents deal with the application of the petitioner expeditiously preferably within three months from today. Appropriate decision that is taken may be duly communicated to the petitioner/learned counsel for the petitioner 6.

Nothing further survives in the petition. Writ Petition is disposed of. All pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of accordingly. JAYANT NATH, J JULY 28, 2020/n
