The instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of Cr.P.C. seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus or any other nature thereby directing the police to provide adequate security to the petitioners.

Issue notice. Mr. Yasir Rauf Ansari, learned ASC accepts notice on behalf of State.

Brief facts of the case are that petitioner no. 1 and petitioner no. 2 got married to each other as per Hindu Rites and Ceremonies at Arya Samajy Vivah Mandal Trust Village Dargal, District Gaziabad on 30.11.2023. 02.04.2024, when the petitioners had informed their family members about their marriage then they were treated very badly and were later on beaten up mercilessly. It is stated that the parents of petitioner no. 1 had also tried to strangulate her. On 03.04.2024, when the petitioners approached the Police Station, then the police officials refused to help them and also refused to receive their complaint. Hence the present petition has been filed before this Court.

Heard the submissions on behalf of petitioners as well as the State. 7.
Considering the overall facts and circumstances of the case, and the fact that petitioners have prayed for protection of their life as they are apprehending threat from respondent no. 4 and 5 for having solemnized the marriage against their wishes, in case the petitioners are staying in Delhi, the petitioners are directed to provide their mobile numbers to the IO and SHO. Similarly, the mobile numbers of concerned IO, SHO and beat constable be also shared with the petitioners.

In the meantime, the SHO will also verify as to whether they are in fact staying at the address which has been mentioned in the writ petition. 9.
Learned counsel for the petitioners does not insist on issuance of notice to the other parties and is satisfied with the aforesaid arrangement. 10.
Accordingly, the present writ petition stands disposed of in above terms.
