Criminal Writ Petition under Article 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, has been filed on behalf of the Petitioner, to issue appropriate directions to the Respondent Nos. 1 and 2, to provide police protection. 2.

Learned counsel on behalf of the State, submits that the protection had been sought by the Petitioner as she was a witness in FIR No. 176/2024 under Section 307/34 IPC. This Court vide its Order dated 16.04.2024 had directed the Petitioner, to approach the District Witness Protection Committee for assessment of threat perception to the Petitioner and to take further steps, in accordance with law and the Application, if filed, shall be considered by the said Committee, within a week. 3.

Learned ASC for the State submits that the testimony of the Petitioner already stands recorded. states that the cross-examination is still pending. Be as it may, the Order has already been made vide Order dated 16.04.2024, to approach the District Witness Protection Committee, in case of any threat perception. 4.

The Petition is disposed of, in terms of the Order dated 16.04.2024 with liberty to the Petitioner, to approach the District Witness Protection Committee.
