Issue notice. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents accepts notice.

The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that the respondents be directed to issue an OCI Card to the petitioner, in a time bound manner.

The petitioner claims that he was a citizen of India but had surrendered his passport and citizenship on 03.02.1997. The petitioner claims that he applied for an OCI Card on 08.12.2016. However, his

application was not processed. In the meanwhile, the Visa granted to the petitioner also expired, and therefore the petitioner filed another application on 08.09.2018. It is the petitioner's grievance that he has not received any satisfactory response to that application, as well. 6.

In view of the averments made in the petition, the respondents are directed to process the petitioner's application for an OCI Card. In the event the respondents are of the view that the petitioner is not entitled to the same, or the same is required to be denied to him, the respondents shall communicate the reasons for same within a period of eight weeks, from today.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. 8.
