CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE C.HARI SHANKAR ORDER (ORAL) % 28.05.2024 1.
The prayer clause in this writ petition reads thus: "In view of the above-mentioned facts and grounds it is respectfully submitted that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to:
1. Direct the respondents to grant admission to the petitioner in the school i.e. respondent no. 2.
2. Further direction be given that no adverse situation will be created for her education and this petition will not be used as reason for further untoward harassment of the petitioner and her mother.
3. Priority be given with regard to the children of woman such as single mothers, widows, survivors of domestic abuse in admissions in the government school in tandem with the Article 15(3) of the constitution.
Through this state shall be empowering the women facing such distressful circumstances. KUMAR 18:33:54 By:CHANDRASHEKHARAN HARI SHANKAR 18:33:18 WP(C) 5478/2024
4. Pass any other or further order/s as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case." 2.
It is not in dispute that since the petition has been filed, the petitioner has been granted admission in the Respondent 2 School. 3.
Though learned counsel for the petitioner seeks to urge various contentious issues which, he submits, require an overhaul of the draw of lots system conducted by the Directorate of Education, in the facts of the case, I am not inclined to enter into these issues. 4.
The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. C.HARI SHANKAR, J MAY 28, 2024/yg Click here to check corrigendum, if any KUMAR 18:33:54 By:CHANDRASHEKHARAN HARI SHANKAR 18:33:18 WP(C) 5478/2024
