By way of the present petition under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, the petitioner, who was appointed as a Notary Public under the Notaries Act, 1952, seeks quashing of FIR bearing No. RC-13(S)/2024/SC-III/ND dated 22.11.2024, registered under Sections 120B/205/209/420/465/466/468/471/474 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, at Police Station CBI/SC-III, New Delhi. 2.

Ms. Rajni Gupta, learned Special Public Prosecutor, appears on behalf of the respondent - Central Bureau of Investigation ["CBI"], and submits that the impugned FIR was registered on the basis of the judgment of the Supreme Court dated 20.09.2024 in Criminal Appeal Nos. 3883-3884/2024 [Bhagwan Singh v. Ors.]. However, she states upon instructions from Inspector Sunil, SC-3, CBI, who is the officiating Investigating Officer of the case, that the petitioner has not been chargesheeted as of now. 3.

After some hearing, Mr. Gaurav Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner, seeks permission to withdraw this petition, without prejudice to the rights and remedies available to the petitioner before the learned Special Court, if the need arises.

The petition is dismissed as withdrawn in terms of the above submission.

It is clarified that this Court has not made any observation on the merits of the case.
