The petitioner has filed this petition under Section 226 of the Constitution of India for the following reliefs: "(a) Pass appropriate Writ(s)/Order(s)/Direction(s) particularly in the nature of mandamus whereby directing the Respondents to remove FIR bearing No. 522/2005 dated 13/12/2005 under Section 420/506 IPC registered with Police Station: Bhajanpura, Delhi and the name of the Petitioner from police databases, crime and criminal tracking network and systems [CCTNS], Bhajanpura Police Station (Respondent No. 4) and police verification portals and direct the Police Station Bhajanpura (Respondent No. 4) to issue Police Clearance Certificate to the Petitioner in this regard, as the Petitioner has been acquitted in Criminal Case being Cr Cases 461454/2015 emanating from an FIR bearing No. 522/2005 dated 13/12/2005 under Section 420/506 IPC registered with Police Station: Bhajanpura, Delhi, vide Judgment dated 28.06.2025 passed by LD. JMFC-01/NE/KKD, on the grounds as mentioned hereinabove and in the interest of justice;

as an offender as he has been acquitted in Criminal Case being Cr Cases 461454/2015 emanating from an FIR bearing No. 522/2005 dated 13/12/2005 under Section 420/506 IPC registered with Police Station: Bhajanpura, Delhi, vide Judgment dated 28.06.2025 passed by LD. JMFC-01/NE/KKD, on the grounds as mentioned herein above and in the interest of justice;

(c) Pass such other, further order(s)/direction(s) as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit, just and proper under the present facts and circumstances of the case in favour of the Petitioner."

It is the case of the petitioner that he was under trial in proceedings arising out of FIR No. 522/2005, lodged at P.S. Bhajanpura, and was acquitted by a judgment dated 28.06.2025, by the Magistrate's Court. However, his grievance is that the status of the FIR is shown as "pending" in the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System ["CCTNS"] Database of the police authorities. 3.

Mr. Sanjeev Bhandari, learned Additional Standing Counsel, who appears on advance notice, submits that in the State Crime Records Bureau Database, the subject FIR is not shown as pending against the petitioner. However, the State will also check the CCTNS Database, and if the subject FIR is shown as "pending", they will take steps to ensure that the status is updated within the next two weeks from today. 4.

As no further relief is sought in the writ petition, the writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
