The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondent-MCD to demolish the unauthorized construction raised by respondent no.3 at property No. 220, measuring 80 Sq Y ds, Block, FA. Tagore Garden, New Delhi-110027 ('subject property'). 2.

A status report has been handed over in Court on behalf of respondent-MCD.

2.1 The same is taken on record.

In terms of the status report, the subject property was inspected on 24th March, 2026 and unauthorized construction in the shape of a room at the second floor and a small room at the terrace of the second floor in the subject property was noticed. Accordingly, a Show Cause Notice was issued on 24th March, 2026. A reply to the Show Cause Notice was received. Pursuant to the personal hearing, a demolition order dated 20th May, 2026 has been passed against the subject property. In light of the status report filed on behalf of respondent-MCD, the present writ petition is disposed of while directing respondent-MCD to take appropriate action in accordance with law.

In the event the petitioner has any further grievance with regard to unauthorised construction, he is at liberty to take appropriate remedies available in accordance with law.

All rights, contentions and legal remedies of the owner/occupier shall remain protected.
