The petitioner has filed the present petition praying that interim bail be granted for a period of forty-five days in connection with FIR No.169/2010 under Sections 302/120B/34 of the IPC and Sections 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act, 1959 registered with PS Ashok Vihar. 3.

The allegation against the petitioner is that he had murdered his sister (honour killing).

It is alleged that she had been murdered because she was desirous of marrying a person from another caste/community. This Court is informed that apart from the present FIR, there is another FIR registered against the

petitioner in respect of honour killing of another couple, who had also solemnised an inter-caste marriage. The gravity of the alleged offence is serious. It is also ironical that the petitioner seeks interim bail on the ground to attend to his family members considering he has allegedly killed his sibling.

The petitioner contends that his father is ailing and requires to be looked after. Admittedly, the petitioner has a brother, who is fully capable of doing so. The petitioner contends that his younger brother is not able to do so as his wife is in the family way. The said contention is unpersuasive. Accordingly, the present petition is dismissed. 6.
