The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent no.1/University of Delhi, to conclude the elections of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) as per UGC Regulations, 2015, in an expeditious manner.

As per the Notification dated 18th February, 2026, elections were scheduled for 27th February, 2026. However, the same were postponed vide notice dated 24th February, 2026 and no fresh date has been issued for holding elections.

On the last date of hearing, counsel for respondent no.1/University of Delhi was asked to take instructions as to when the elections to the Internal Complaints Committee would be held.

elections would be held in July, 2026. However, no specific date has been decided yet.

Accordingly, the present writ petition stands disposed of, while directing the respondent no.1/University of Delhi to conduct elections for the Internal Complaints Committee on or before 31st July, 2026. 6.
