This writ petition is filed by the petitioners seeking appropriate directions to direct Western Regional Committee, National Council For Teacher Education (hereinafter referred to as the 'WRC, NCTE') to comply and implement the order of the Appeal Committee of National Council for Teacher Education dated 31.12.2018 and the order of this court dated 15.05.2019.

It is the case of the petitioners that they submitted their application

seeking recognition of B.A. B.Ed. course on 30.06.2015. A letter of intent was issued on 01.11.2017. It is the case of the petitioners that they have submitted compliance to letter of intent on 12.03.2018 and in terms of the Appeal Order dated 31.12.2018 again on 17.01.2019. It is stated that thereafter in terms of an order dated 15.05.2019 passed by this court in W.P.(C) No.5302/2019, the petitioners have again submitted compliance on various dates but unfortunately respondent No.2 have not taken any action for placing the petitioners' application before WRC, NCTE for considering the matter for grant of final recognition under clause 7(16) of the NCTE Regulations, 2014.

Reference may be had to the order dated 15.05.2019 of this court in W.P.(C) 5302/2019. Relevant direction reads as follows: "5.

In the circumstances, I am of the opinion that the interests of justice would stand subserved if this writ petition is disposed of, at this stage itself, by setting aside the impugned decision to refuse the recognition to the petitioner to start its BA/B.Ed programme and by remanding the matter to the WRC, for reconsideration of the issue in its next meeting." 4.

Despite directions, it is manifest that the respondents have not yet completed the whole process.

Learned counsel for the respondents states that there are large numbers of such matters pending on account of which there has been some delay.

Keeping in view the long pendency of the application of the petitioners and the earlier directions passed by this court on 15.05.2019, in my opinion, it would be in the interest of justice that WRC, NCTE may expeditiously deal with the pending application of the petitioners.

Let the WRC, NCTE take up the case of the petitioners in its next meeting and dispose of the application of the petitioners. In any case, the application of the petitioners should be disposed of within six weeks from today.
