This petition is preferred on behalf of the Petitioner under Section 29A (4) and (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ('1996 Act') seeking extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by a period of 03 months from 26.05.2025.

Disputes having arisen between the parties in relation to a Contract dated 08.03.2019 for "Redevelopment of General Pool Residential Colony at Srinivaspuri New Delhi (Phase-I) - Construction of 560 Nos. Nos. (Type-III) and 588 Nos. (Type-IV) including single basement, three level podium parking (Ground + 02) and social infrastructure buildings including all development works and services on EPC basis", over an area of 37 acres as Phase-I work, parties resorted to arbitration for adjudication of their inter se disputes and Arbitral Tribunal was constituted on 21.03.2023. Pleadings were completed on 26.11.2023 and parties mutually agreed to bifurcate the proceedings into 'liability' and 'quantification'. 5.

It is stated in the petition that with respect to the liability part, interim award was passed on 04.09.2024 and thereafter in the hearing on 23.09.2024, the Arbitral Tribunal fixed the schedule for cross-examination and final arguments for passing a final award on the quantification part. On 12.03.2025, final award has been reserved and the Arbitral Tribunal requested the parties to initiate proceedings for extension of mandate till 25.08.2025.

Mr. Ranvijay Ajad posted as EE & SM (Civil) appears on behalf of the Respondent and hands over copy of letter dated 21.04.2025 authorizing him to make a statement that Respondent has no objection to the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal being extended. The letter is taken on record. 8.

Considering that the arbitration proceedings are at the stage of passing the final award, with the consent of the parties, mandate of the learned Arbitral Tribunal is extended by a period of three months from 26.05.2025. 9.

Petition is allowed and disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
