The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that the FIR bearing number 227/2019 under Sections 498A/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (IPC), registered with PS Kamla Market, be withdrawn. 3.
The said FIR was registered at the instance of respondent no.2. She had stated that she had married the petitioner on 04.04.2014 out of her free will. She further states that her parents had spent a considerable amount of money in giving gifts, dowry, istridhan and cash as per their standing. husband and her in-laws. She alleged that after some time, her in-laws started verbally harassing her and demanding a flat. She also stated that she was not given food and water and kept hungry and thirsty. She has also alleged that the petitioner used to beat her at the instance of his parents (her in-laws).

Respondent no.2 is present in the Court and is identified by her counsel. She states that she has since resolved all her issues with her husband (the petitioner) and his family members. She states that she and her husband are now living separately and she has no grievance against him and his family members.

This Court has also interacted with respondent no.2. The allegations made by her were discussed and she states that she wishes to withdraw her allegations. She also states that she has understood the implications of withdrawing the FIR, including that similar allegations cannot be made by her in future. She joins the petitioner in praying that the FIR in question be quashed.

The petitioner has also joined the proceedings and confirms that he has been living with respondent no.2 and has no grievance against her. 7.
In view of the statements made by the petitioner and respondent no.2, this Court considers it apposite to allow the present petition. 8.
Accordingly, FIR No.227/2019 under Sections 498A/506/34 of the IPC, registered with PS Kamla Market and all proceedings emanating therefrom, are quashed.
