The petitioners have filed this petition under Article 226 of the Constitution, seeking police protection against family members of petitioner No. 1.

The petitioners claim to have left their respective homes and solemnised their marriage by way of a Nikkahnama ceremony on 06.05.2026. A copy of a marriage certificate issued by Kutub Khana Hamidia has been annexed to the writ petition. 3.

case of petitioner No. 2, only his Aadhar card has been placed on record, which records his date of birth as 01.07.2003. Prima facie, both of them are major and are of age when they can legally get married. 4.

Mr. Mohd. Asif, learned counsel for the petitioner, submits that the family members of petitioner No. 1 [arrayed as respondent Nos. 4 to 13] are opposed to their marriage and have issued threats to the petitioners. 5.

The present address of the petitioners, as disclosed in the memo of parties, is House No. 1696, Gali Krishna Sohan Ganj, Subzi Mandi, Malkaganj, Delhi - 110007, which falls within the jurisdiction of Police Station Subzi Mandi. However, Mr. Sanjay Lao, learned Standing Counsel for the State, submits, upon instructions from SI Brij Mohan, Police Station Subzi Mandi, that the owner of the said premises has denied having entered into a rent agreement with the petitioners. 6.

Mr. Asif submits that the petitioners are facing extensive threats as aforesaid. He states that, in the event, if there is any dispute with the landlord, the petitioners will make alternative arrangements. 7.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances, the petition is disposed of with the following directions:

a. The Station House Officer ["SHO"] of Police Station Subzi Mandi will give his mobile number, as well as the mobile number of the beat constable, to the petitioners so that they may contact in the event of any threat to their safety.

b. In the event, the petitioners change their address, they will inform the SHO of their new address, and the SHO is requested to ensure that the same directions are followed by the concerned police station.

No further orders are sought in this writ petition, which therefore stands disposed of.

It is made clear that notice has not been issued to the private respondents, and this Court has not made any observations with regard to the veracity of the petitioners' allegations against them.
