The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that an independent investigating agency be appointed to inquire in this case and register an FIR.

The petitioner is the father of deceased. It is stated that the deceased was in the Merchant Navy and was an accomplished swimmer. The current inquiries indicate that he had committed suicide by jumping off the bridge over Yamuna River.

The petitioner is not willing to accept the same and he has serious apprehensions that his son had committed suicide. It is also asserted that his son was not suffering from any depression and there is no possible reason why he would have committed suicide.

The learned ASC appearing for the State states that although the inquiries have been diligently completed but, nonetheless, for the satisfaction of the petitioner, the State shall transfer further inquiries to the Crime Branch.

In view of the above, no further orders are required to be passed in the present petition.

Needless to state that if the inquiry reveals any grounds to suspect otherwise, steps be taken for registration of an FIR in accordance with law. 7.
