2. Issue notice.

3. Mr. Shubham Sharma, learned counsel, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-BSES.

4. At joint request of learned counsels for the parties, the petition is taken up for disposal.

5. In this petition, the petitioner seeks the following relief(s): "...issuance of writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus restraining the respondent from disconnecting the electricity connection or removing the electricity meter of the petitioner without strictly following the principle of natural justice and without adhering to the rules,

regulations, provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003 and Delhi Electricity Supply Code and Performance Standards Regulation, 2007 and without issuing any notice...."

The petitioner is apprehensive that her electricity connection will be disturbed and/or her electricity meter will be taken away from the premises because of some miscreants making unfounded complaints against her. The petitioner has been paying the requisite charges all along to the BSES and undertakes to further pay all legitimate charges. In the recent past, the petitioner has twice visited the office of the respondent-BSES to file a complaint, but it was not accepted by the officer at the Reception Counter. This has caused her much agon, adding to her apprehension that there was something mischievous afoot, for singling her out for some adverse treatment. The petitioner is stated to have raised her voice against the land mafia in the area regarding unauthorized construction.

Be that as it may, the Court is assured by the learned counsel for the BSES that as long as the petitioner continues to pay her electricity bills, there would be no cause for discontinuing her electricity connection. If any action has to be taken against the petitioner, it will be as per the procedure prescribed in law and by serving prior notice upon her.

8. The petition is disposed-off in the above terms.
