HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SURESH KUMAR KAIT

% 13.05.2019 Vide the present petition, the petitioner seeks direction thereby directing the respondent no.1 for considering the qualification of M.A. Degree in selection of teachers for the post of TGT-Gujarati and holding the petitioner eligible for this post.

Further seeks a direction to modify the advertisement dated 01.05.2019 so as to include M.A. Degree in the concerned subject as an eligibility criteria.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of respondent no.1 submits that pursuant to advertisement dated 16.01.2019, six candidates applied and out of which, five did not clear the Central Teaching Eligibility Test (CTET), which is mandatory for TGT and Assistant Teacher post. One candidate was

qualified as CTET but was over age. Therefore, pursuant to advertisement dated 16.01.2019, none was eligible and the selection process was scrapped. Counsel for the respondent no.1 further submits that CTET is a mandatory qualification for TGT posts pursuant to advertisement dated 01.05.2019 except TGT (Drawing).

Accordingly, the applications have been invited and if the petitioner is CTET qualified, she may apply for the same and her candidature would be considered.

In view of the above, the petition is disposed of. Pending application stands disposed of.
