The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to the respondents to release/issue a passport to the petitioner. Admittedly, the parents of the petitioner are not citizens of this country.

The petitioner was born on 27.10.1994 and has completed her education in this country.

In terms of Section 3(1) of the Citizenship Act, 1955, the petitioner is not a citizen of this country and, therefore, the relief as sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted.

The petition is, accordingly, dismissed.

However, this would not preclude the petitioner from making an appropriate application for acquiring citizenship of this country by naturalization. 4.

Needless to state if any such application is made, the same would be considered in accordance with law.
